Priest: We Will Play British Steel In Britain
Judas Priest will play the whole of their iconic album British Steel in the UK.
Talking exclusively to Classic Rock, Rob Halford said: “It would just be ridiculous for us not to do that in our home country. We’ve been touring America, doing the album in its entirety as a major part of our. There’s a band meeting just before Christmas to discuss our plans for next year, and I can assure you that we will be talking about British dates next year showcasing the record. It will happen.”
The band also plan to further their ideas to present a full theatrical presentation of current album Nostradamus.
“We still very much want to do it. If I had my way this would happen everywhere. But it might turn out to be in selected venues. The idea of doing it at the Riyal Albert Hall in London, Paris Opera House and Carnegie Hall in New York has been put forward before.”
As for a new Priest record, that’s also on the cards.
“I can’t say too much right now, but if it were left to me then we’d be in the studio on January 1.”
Away from Priest, which he insists is still his priority, the Metal God has just released a new Halford album, the first in seven years. It’s titled Winter Songs and is a collection of seasonal tracks. A live Halford (the band) DVD is due out shortly, called Halford Crucible World Tour – Live In Anaheim, filmed in 2002, and he’s also started his own clothing line, which is available at http://www.metalgodapparel.com/
On top of that, Halford’s company (Metal God Entertainment) are now actively looking to sign you bands.
“I really want to support what I believe to be an exciting metal scene. So we’re expanding the label, which was always the intention. I want to hear what’s out there. So, if you’re in a young, exciting band, contact me!”
