As part of the build-up to this weekend’s High Voltage festival, Classic Rock visited yesterday’s rehearsals of Uriah Heep and Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash. The former are, of course, going play their 1972 classic album Demons And Wizards in its entirety, with a slide guitar cameo from Micky Moody, whilst MTWA and guest star Ted Turner are set to revise the much beloved Argus (released in the same year – 1972). Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash will be doing something special when they play on the Prog Stage at High Voltage on July 25. They’ll be performing in its entirety the classic 1972 Wishbone Ash album Argus. Classic Rock thought we’d get bassist/vocalist Martin Turner to give us a track-by-track guide to the record. Wishbone Ash fans hopeful of a tearful original line-up reunion between guitarist Andy Powell on the one hand, and bassist Martin Turner, guitarist Ted Turner and drummer Steve Upton on the other have once again had their hopes dashed.
Ted Turner, who’ll be joining Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash at the High Voltage Festival on July 25, told Classic Rock:
“Andy believes that he alone is Wishbone Ash…and claims the name for himself.”
