Wylde, Jordison Hospitalised In Medical Emergencies
Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society and Joey Jordison of Slipknot were both hospitalised in separate health scares this past weekend.
Wylde is recovering after a medical emergency to remove a blood clot. The guitarist was taken to hospital after a concert in Montana on August 19. Wylde returned to hospital over the weekend to receive further treatment.
No further details have been released, but Wylde has posted a picture of himself in his hospital bed on his Twitter.com blog.
Slipknot drummer Jordison caused the cancellation of a Slipknot show in Seattle on Saturday after contracting an unspecified illness. A Washington concert the following night was pulled close to performance time after the band had established Jordison wouldn’t recover in time.
Jordison’s condition was described as a “severe medical emergency”. Slipknot have cancelled all their shows scheduled for August and September.
Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne hit the stage at BlizzCon on Saturday in California, presenting Greek guitarist Gus ‘Firewind’ G as Wylde’s possible replacement in the band.
Osbourne issued a statement on Friday (August 21) confirming reports that Wylde and Mike Bordin (drums) would not be joining him for the BlizzCon performance due to their current touring commitments with Black Label Society and Faith No More, respectively. Drummer Tommy Clufetos (Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent) played with Ozzy at BlizzCon.
Nine-year-old guitar virtuoso Yuto Miyazawa also appeared with Ozzy’s band at BlizzCon, playing Crazy Train.
