I know that Steve Perry is the voice of Rock. His songs are so refreshing and down to earth, whether he was with Journey or during his solo career.
To me, he delivered rock’s greatest vocal performances like, "Open Arms" and "Don't Stop Believin" and many more in which now are in movies, TV shows, commercials, you name it! People still use his songs to promote their messages because the songs are hits and classics! We will never see his unique "Voice" ever go away...it's here to stay!!

My bunch ranges in age from 10 years old to 80 years old. Some like hard rock, some like soft rock, and the rest like everything in between. Despite their vast age and taste differences, two artists make everyone's playlist, Michael Jackson and Steve Perry. In the rock world, I know of no artists, other than Perry, that appeals to that vast of an age and taste range.

When I think rock, I think:
1. Steve Perry
2. Robert Plant
3. Mick Jagger - real average singer
4. Ronnie Van Zant - average singer
5. Janis Joplin
6. Freddie Mercury

All great artists, but Perry rules the radio.
