On Sunday, June 14, Cov returns to Donington!
Whitesnake are the latest band to self-confirm for this year’s Download festival.
David Coverdale and his band will grace the stage and question whether it’s love that they’re feeling on June 14, according to their official website.
We brought you the rumour doing the rounds that Donington will be a classic rock themed Sunday with appearances from Whitesnake, Def Leppard and ZZ Top.
In preparation for Download, Whitesnake will also be playing three weeks of shows around Scandinavia and Europe, starting in Norway on May 21, which will include headlining several festivals, and playing some low-key, smaller venues in towns and villages outside of major cities.
Coverdale said that in these uncertain times, when it is economically difficult for some people to get to see rock shows in their major cities, then it is the responsibility of the artist to take their music to the people – and that’s what Whitesnake intend to do, before undertaking a major North American tour in the summer.
Whitesnake’s June 14 show at Download will mark the fourth time the band have performed at Donington Park… 1981… 1983… 1990… and now 2009.

If you check their MySpace blog where they self confirm they also confirm Def Leppard!
Great news! Shame the late, great Cozy Powell won’t be there with his helecopter powered spot lights during the drum solo
Yes yes and yessssss!
Whitesnake rocked last year, much better than Leppard…
