Watch Out – There's A New Evanescence In Town

Three ex-members of goth metal combo Evanescence have formed a new band – and they’ve brought in American Idol finalist Carly Smithson on lead vocals.

Dublin-born Smithson, who finished sixth in the 2008 season of American Idol, joins ex-Evanescence guitarist/songwriter Ben Moody, guitarist John Lecompt and drummer Rocky Gray in their new band, the Fallen. Bass player Marty O’Brian completes the line-up.

(Evanescence fans will recall that Fallen is the title of the band’s seven-times platinum album, released in 2003. See photo, top left.)

The new group’s first song, Bury Me Alive, debuts today via the band’s website, wearethefallen.com.

Could be interesting. Ben Moody was the main talent behind Evanescence’s success. It all went tits up when he left.

I’m the drummer in My Immortal, the only UK tribute band to Evanescence. I have been talking to Rocky about this, and as soon as they can they will be in the UK.

This will be huge!. But in the meantime,,,come and see us!
