Vic Chestnutt Dies From Overdose
Vic Chestnutt, the iconic singer/songwriter, who could count The Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage, R.E.M. and Live as fans, has died at the age of 45.
From Athens, Georgia, the wheelchair bound Chestnutt was discovered by Michael Stipe of R.E.M, who produced his first two albums, Little (1990) and West Of Rome (1991). In all, he released 14 albums and one EP, plus two albums under the name of brut, a side project with members of Widespread Panic.
A long time supporter of marijuana being used to treat medical conditions, Chestnutt is said to have died from an overdose of muscle relaxants.
