Tracks Of The Day: Shear
Not one but four songs are available for download today. All courtesy of new Finnish band Shear, who’ve made the whole of debut EP, In Solitude, totally free as the latest Tracks Of The Day. Check out all recent Tracks Of The Day.
The band’s line-up is Alexa Leroux (vocals), Mikael Gronroos and Lauri Koskenniemi (guitar), Eerik Purdon (bass), Lari Sorvo (keyboards) and Juhanna Karlsson (drums). Between them, they’ve experience with bands such as Amoral, Crystal Blaze, Elenium and Omnium Gatherum.
The band, who started in Helsinki two years ago, say their music is “melodic and catchy female-fronted metal with a lot of interesting twists”.
They add: “We wrote the kind of music that felt right at that point for the EP. It can be hard to identify the exact reasons for your motivation and inspiration. It’s just usually a sum of what is currently happening in your life and how you feel overall when writing the music.” That’s cleared that one up, then.
