Track Of The Day: U.D.O.

Udo Dirkschneider has one of the most recognisable growls in metal. Having made his name with Germanic gladiators Accept, he now carries the flag for real metal through U.D.O., a mighty amalgam of metal mavens. And they provide the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all the latest Tracks Of The day at www.classicrockmagazine.com/tag/track-of-the-day

U.D.O. first came on the scene with 1987’s debut album Animal House. There have been 10 more studio releases subsequently, before the arrival of Dominator in 2009.  And, as true metal is once again back in the spotlight U.D.O. (and Udo) are out to show they can match any of the new breed.

The band now have another former Accept man in their ranks. Not only does Stefan Kaufmann play guitar here, but the one-time drummer also produced the AFM-released album. He joins guitarist Igor Gianola, bassist Fitty Weinhold and drummer Francesco Jovino.

The band were hoping to play three UK shows in January, but unfortunately these have had to be postponed, with the aim of getting over here now in May.  In the meantime, enjoy the track Dominator for free at http://rapidshare.com/files/324802158/UDO._2._Dominator.mp3
