Today is a landmark anniversary for everyone who loves metal. February 13 is the 40th anniversary of the release of the self-titled debut album from Black Sabbath – and therefore the true birth of the genre. Good grief we’re all middle-aged! To celebrate Trivium are giving away a cover version, and therefore it’s the Track Of The Day. In addition, Trivium are about to launch their own merchandising design. The ‘Slain The Dragon’ T-shirt will be available from March 10. The band will be marking the occasion by doing two HMV in stores, where they’ll be signing T-shirts and related Trivium paraphernalia. These happen from 5pm in Newcastle (Northumberland Street) on March 10 and in Glasgow (Buchanan Street) the enxt day.
