Track Of The Day: Them Crooked Vultures
Can you believe that one of the most talked about bands of the moment have made a song available to download – for free? Well, it’s true, which is why Them Crooked Vultures provide today’s Track Of The Day. Click here for previous Tracks Of The Day.
The combination of Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) has been around since 2005. But it’s only this year that things have truly taken off.
Live gigs in the UK reached a crescendo when they opened for The Arctic Monkeys at the Brixton Academy in August, following which the band – augmented live by rhythm guitarist Alain Johannes – stormed both the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
Now, they’re on the verge of releasing their self-titled debut album, due out on November 16 through Sony. The first single from this, New Fang, has been getting a massively positive response, and with a British tour set for next month, it looks like 2009 is gonna end in a blaze of Crooked activity.

so you have to download iTunes to get it…ahhh no wonder it was free…….
Are these three so short of money, they have to direct you to itunes, can`t we just get it from there web site, like placebo, or manraze, me thinks that in two months there will be a deluxe version of the new album 1.
And according to my experience, you have to register your credit card with the US iTunes store (even though it’s a free track), because it’s not available in the UK iTunes store? Not cool…
Is this a joke??? A UK MAGAZINE GIVING OUT A TRACK NOT AVAILABLE IN THE UK??? fuck you
Can’t have it because it is only available if you live in the USA. The last “free” track I tried to get and couldn’t because I had to pay a sub fee to the download host.
It’s free on UK iTunes as well
Give my credit card details to Apple for a US only free download advertised by a UK based magazine – no thanks!
Metal Hammer have found what CR couldn’t: link to the track in the UK store:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=338157097&id=338156852&s=143444
But you still have to register a credit card when you sign up, even if you’re not buying something. No thanks.
