Best rock band for years. Classic Rock's review line-up isn't correct (bass player/vocals is Matt Rose) Lee is right -The Virginmarys are a ferocious live band with so much energy, incredible musicianship and every tune they write is a winner and Big O is right: they their sound their own. So fresh and have a frightening stage presence for such a young. Probably the best live bluesy rock band since Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac . Their album is a stunningly great debut and it's great to hear them beginning to capture their live sound on record. These guys would grace an major festival headline slot now. Imagine what they're going to be like in 2 years - they're surely going to conquer the rock world

Went to see The Union last night at The Tivoli in Buckley N Wales , & was completely blown away by these boys as the supporting act. Powerful rock band definitely one to watch out for as future rock hero's. Bought the cd & was amazed how they have captured the live sound & vibe so many " famous " bands strive to achieve. Best of luck to the boys from Macclesfield !! Keep it loud ,,
ps,, The Union were pretty damn good too .

Ferocious is the perfect word to describe there live performances,I,ve heard them described as zeppelin, white stripes, slade pink fairies, groundhogs, foo fighters, velvet revolver, biffy clyro but you know what? they sound like The virginmarys and that is the sound of solid gold.

Excellent band and album and "live" they are ferocious. Saw them in Edinburgh supporting Slash, met the boys outside, really nice guys too.
I wish them every success, they remind me quite a bit of Rose Hill Drive and Mother Superior, and that's as high a recommendation as I can give.
