Track Of The Day: The Union Sound Set

Alt. rockers The Union Sound Set have a new line-up And are about to release their debut album. So, it’s rather timely that they provide the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all Tracks Of The Day.

From London, the band features vocalist Edd Simpson, guitarists Simon Britcliffe and  Dan Best, bassist Caspar Williamson and drummer Alex Walker. The band were originally called Prego, under which name they released a handful of EPs. But, with a switch to the current line-up came the name change. Says Simpson of his philosophy:

“When I started writing for what was then Prego, I was working with another girl called Julia and it was very much a Mouldy Peaches type affair. Then I came to London and started really listening to, and getting excited about, more post-rock bands like Explosions in the Sky. After that I had a vision that was very different, and I knew I needed other musicians to do it. The different musicians have just brought different things to the band along the way, but I think the mission has always stayed the same in terms of what we’re trying to achieve with the songs.”

Their debut album, Start Stop, is to be put out by Mighty Atom. And the band have also lined up the following shows:
