Track Of The Day: The Crave

Taking us back to a less complicated era, The Crave are young Brits fuelled by a passion for AC/DC, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters and Tom Petty. And they provide not one, not two, but three Tracks Of The Day. Click here for previous Tracks Of The Day.

From Brighton, this lot have only together for three years. But they have already packed in so much. They’re toured the UK and Europe with Deep Purple, Buckcherry, Hinder, Theory Of A Deadman and Shinedown. In addition, they’re played in America, on bills alongside Bruce Springsteen and the Foos.

During that time, Ryan Burnett (guitar/vocals), Carlos Garcia (guitar), Tom Bass Swann ( bass) and CJ Evans (drums) have honed a sound that is big, ballsy rock’n'roll, in the process developing their own style and swagger.

An EP, High, is now available through iTunes and Amazon. This involved producer Mark Flannery (who’s worked with Def Leppard and U2) and was mixed by Matt Hyde (Monster Magnet, Slayer). Their debut album is due out in January. But you don’t have to wait until then to hear what The Crave are all about. They’ve now made three live tracks, recorded at the prestigious Rock Am Ring Festival in Germany, available for free download.

Not to rain on anybody’s parade here – I admire any band that can stick together and go through all the BS of trying to make it in the music business, especially in today’s market. But do the band a favor – there is nothing on their myspace page (6 songs) that even sounds remotely like AC/DC or Aerosmith.

Saw these guys the other week supporting Deep Purple and thought they will really good. Bought the EP and still impressed.

I saw these guys At secc with deep purple and they are brilliant! Worth a download

These guys rock my world! Seen them support Deep Purple recently and Download and Sonisphere earlier in the year – amazing live act not to be missed!

With great respect Steve I had a listen too and I suspect they don’t want to sound like AC/DC or Aerosmith, they just have a passion for classic rock. Seems to me they have a pretty unique sound of their own. I’ll defo download the EP. Good luck to em.
