Track Of The Day: The Aquabats

While GWAR set out to lay waste to humankind, there’s a force out there protecting us. Yep, meet The Aquabats, determined to keep the evil forces at bay through the power of their music. And now they want you to join the ongoing fight, which is why they’ve provided today’s Track Of The Day. Check out all the latest Tracks Of The Day at www.classicrockmagazine.com/tag/track-of-the-day

The Aquabats started their holy crusade in 1994, being based in Orange Country, California.

These superheroes dress the part, act the part and use their live performances to get to grips with fearsome foes. These carefree costumed conquistadors have released four albums so far: The Return Of The Aquabats (1996), The Fury Of The Aquabats! (1996), The Aqaubats Vs. The Floating Eye Of Death! And Other Amazing Adventures Vol. 1 (1999) and Charge!! (2005).

Musically, they start off where Devo stopped, and add in some rock ‘n’ roll and punk. It’s all good clean, superhero fun. Right now, the band – or should we say the Battalion Of Goodies? – feature The MC Bat Commander (vocals), Eagle ‘Bones’ Falconhawk (guitar), Crash McLarson (bass), Jimmy The Robot (keyboards/saxophone) and Ricky Fitness (drums).

Join the fray for free, by downloading their cover of Lindsey Buckingham’s Holiday Road at www.theaquabats.com/news/

That’s where you’ll find all the relevant info on the band as well.
