Track Of The Day: Tesla
The statistics make impressive reading for Sacramento’s Tesla: 25 years, 12 albums, more than 2,500 live shows and over 16 million albums sold worldwide. And as they release new album Alive In Europe 2009, Tesla provide our latest Track Of The Day. Check out all the Tracks Of The Day.
The band started in 1984 as City Kid, being renamed Tesla when they were recording debut album Mechanical Resonance in 1986. They’ve been a going concern ever since, apart from a period from 1994-2000. In fact, four of the original members are still there: vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarist Frank Hannon, bassist Brian Wheat and drummer Troy Luccketta. Guitarist Dave Rude has been in the line-up since 2006, when he replaced Tommy Skeoch.
Alive In Europe 2009 is Tesla’s fourth live album. The first, 1990′s Five Man Acoustical Jam, was (was as the title suggests) an acoustic session, and 2002′s Standing Room Only was a cut-down version of Replugged Live, released the previous year. This new one was recorded at various locations on last year’s European tour. It’s out on April 26 through Frontiers.
