Track Of The Day: Steve Earle
Steve Earle is about to release his new album. And he offers the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all Tracks Of The Day here.
Earle has been a country rock icon and rebel since the release of his debut album, Guitar Town, in 1986. Since then he’s put out a succession of records which have cemented his reputation not only as one of the great musicians of the past 25 years, but also as a man prepared to be outspoken, whatever the cost.
On April 26, he releases new album I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive via New West Records. It’s the follow-up to the Grammy Award winning 2009 record Townes. It will be available as a single CD, a CD/DVD, on 180-gram vinyl and also digitally. Says the man about the songs here:
”They are all, as far as I can tell, about mortality in one way or the other; death as a mystery rather than a punctuation mark or at least, a comma rather than a period.”
Earle has his debut novel, also called I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive, published on May 12 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. This tells the story of Doc Ebersole, who’s haunted by the ghost of his former patient and friend, Hank Williams.
Now you can download the title song of the album, and a chapter from the book, for free right here.
