Track Of The Day: Spin Gallery

They’re a Swedish duo, who call up pals like Dan Reed and Robin Beck to guest with them. They cite Toto, Mr Mister and Giant as influences, plus Sting and Peter Gabriel. They are Spin Gallery, the ‘thinking man’s modern melodic rock’ act, who provide the latest Track Of The Day. Check out other recent Tracks Of The Day here.

The band started in 1997, when singer/songwriter Kristoffer Lagerstrom and guitarist/producer/songwriter Tommy Denander recorded some demos, including the song Grace, which ended up on the latter’s album Ceremony Of Innocence.

The first Spin Gallery album, Standing Tall, came out in 2004, getting a very positive response as the core duo built up a melodic rock sound that was heavily accentuated towards triple part vocals. Guests on that record included David Foster, Randy Goodrum and Michael Thompson.

Now the band are back with Embrace, an album that sees Reed guesting on the song You Do The Things You Do, while Beck’s featured on Just A Momentary Why.

The album also features top Los Angeles session drummer Glen Marks plus Swedish cellist Marika Willstedt. Says Lagerstrom:

“This is the album I’ve always wanted to make and it came out even better than I could imagine when we started this journey.”

Shame you cannot download the zip file, because the bands music is very good. Maybe they should find another means of file sharing so they could share their music better.
