Springfield has sold over 19 million records in a career that now stretches back three decades. His most recent album, Venus In Overdrive, took only 32 days to record and it it put him back in the US Top 30 – his highest-charting record in over 20 years.

Says Springfield of the album: “It is an album about love in all its forms, and since Venus is the goddess of love, it’s called Venus In Overdrive. There is a lot of personal stuff in these songs but we have tried to craft them so they still have a universal voice. We are older, yet still teenagers, we have lost people we love and still love the people who are on our journey with us, we are angry at some of the crap in the world yet love our human failings.”

Now, the album’s been reissued, not only with a bonus track, but also with a DVD called Live In Rockford. This was filmed in October, 2006 at the Coronado Theatre in Rockford, Illinois. It has only ever been previously available in America.
