Track Of The Day: Priestess

Canada’s Priestess will release their second album in February. But you don’t have until then to hear something from it. In fact, they provide our latest Track Of The Day. Click here for previous Tracks Of The Day.

The album is Prior To The Fire on Tee Pee, the follow-up to the impressive debut Hello Master, released in 2006. Its mix of modern rock, metal and anthemic potential rapidly made the Montreal mavericks a sought-after act on various tours and festivals. Now Mike Heppney (vocals/guitar), Dan Watchorn (guitar, backing vocals), Mike Dyball (bass) and Vince Nudo (drums, percussion, backing vocals) are back with something even better.

Produced by David Schiffman (whosse cv includes The Mars Volta and System Of A Down), Prior To The Fire takes everything to a new level.

“It wasn’t the easiest record to make,” says Heppner. “But the hard work definitely paid off and we’re really, really proud of the end result. We’ve done so much touring and seen so much since our first record that it only galvanized our feelings of what the band is. The songs that make up Prior To The Fire were meant to be heard live and loud. We can’t wait to get out on tour again and really do them justice!”

Prior to the Fire… nice! Finally someone rhymed fire with another word besides higher and desire!
