If you like your hard rock to be bright, breezy, anthemic and hummable, then today’s track will get your motor turning over nicely. It’s a neatly constructed, yet spontaneously combustible song. A mighty merry melody from a band who only got together a year ago. However, if you’re aware of Firewind then you’ll certainly know about drummer Mark Cross and keyboard player/guitarist Bob Katsionis. Both were associated with the mighty Greek power metalheads, but have now decided to blow up their own type of storm, joined by vocalist Chandler Mogal, guitarist Tony Kash and bassist Jason Mercury.
The beauty of what they do is that it’s not hampered by any preconceptions. This five-piece have clearly gone out to write the best possible songs, and have a good time while recording them. When you listen to We Run you can almost see the smiles on their faces. This could be a big Summer time hit – as it ticks all the boxes when it comes to fun in the sun. Watch out for their debut album, Out Loud, which will be released next month. It does live up to the tag of being Skid Row meets TNT, with Bon Jovi as the referee.
Their debut album is out on August 31 on Frontiers.
