Track Of The Day: Newman
Newman release their new album on September 26 through AOR Heaven. They provide the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all Tracks Of The Day here.
Newman was formed in 1997 by vocalist/guitarist Steve Newman, bassist William and drummer Mark Mulholland. The following year they released their self-titled, debut album. After putting out four more albums through Escape Music, Steve Newman formed his own label, Chrome Dome, in 2006, and put out the well received album Primitive Soul in 07. This was followed by the double CD Decade in 2008, featuring a compilation of previously availlable songs, plus unreleased material.
The band’s line-up was revamped at this juncture, with Steve Newman joined by Neil Richardson (guitar), Paul Boyle (keyboards), Terry Horne (bass) and Nic Lipscombe (drums). They appeared at Z Rock in 2009, and they supported John Waite on a UK tour.
In 2010, the band put out the album The Art Of Balance. Now they’re back with Under Southern Skies, featuring the core studio line-up of Newman, Shaun Bessant (guitar) and Rob McEwan (drums). They’re augments for live work by Lipscombe, keyboard player Paul Boyle and bassist Dave Bartlett.
