Track Of The Day: Neverland
From Turkey and Greece, Neverland (or, to give the band its full name, Dreamtone And Iris Mavraki’s Neverland) combine classical and operatic ideas with symphonic metal. And they provide the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all Tracks Of The Day.Formed in 2004, this is a collaboration between Turkish prog metallers Dreamtone and Greek singer Irish Mavaraki. New album Ophidia, their second following on from ’08’s Reversing Time, is something of a massive conceptual affair. As the band explain: “Ophidia tells the story of the evil lurking within society and within mankind as a whole striking out like the snake when not expected!”
The band have brought in some special guests to augment their sound, with members of Angra and Tad Morose being involved as well as Jon Oliva (Savatage/Jon Oliva’s Pain). But in the main the record relies on the unique and powerful visions of Oganalp Canatan and Iris Mavraki (vocals), Burak Kahraman and Onur Ozkoc (guitar), Can Dedekarginoglu (bass), Guney Ozsan (keyboards) and Emrecan Sevdin (drums).
Ophidia, produced by Erim Arkman, is released on March 29, and it’s a bombastic rollercoaster ride. Download the song Silence The Wolves at http://rapidshare.com/files/364976239/Neverland_-_Ophidia_-_Silence_The_Wolves.mp3
