Track Of The Day: Kickhunter
Kickhunter are from Hamburg and feature Helloween bassist Markus Grosskopf. As they prepare to release their third album, All In, the band have given us the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all the Tracks Of The Day.
Formed in 2003, the band also includes vocalists Jorg ‘JC’ Westenberg and Melanie Black guitarists Stefan Aurel Schlabritz (who’s a presenter on the German VH-1 channel) and Rollie Feldman, plus keyboard player Ansas Strehlow and drummer Karsten Kreppert (ex-Zed Yago).
Debut album Hearts And Bones was released in 2003, making the Top 50 in Germany, with Little Monsters following four years later. The mix of classic rock and boogie is now taken a step further with All In, released on July 26 by AFM. A blend of Skynyrd and ZZ Top, with Hammond organ drive, it includes covers of Blondie’s Call Me and Check’s In The Mail (Victory). There are also guest appearances from members of Masterplan and Accept, while Pascal Kravetz (Bruce Springsteen, Joe Cocker, Jimmy Barnes) plays the Hammond B3 and piano.
The band are already planning their next album, to be recorded in Fort Myers, Florida early next year, at a studio owned by Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Rickey Medlocke. But right now, get the song Boogie Town for free here.
