Track Of The Day: Ken Ingwersen
Ken Ingwersen is the guitarist in Ken Hensley’s band. He also produced TNT’s 1999 album Transistor. Oh, is a black belt at karate. Now he’s got a solo album coming out and provides the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all Tracks Of The Day.
He started playing classical guitar when aged 10, but quickly discovered the delights of KISS, Van Halen, Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy. The Norwegian got a big break at the end of the 1980s when he joined Evenrude, who got a deal with Arista. Sadly, the band never made it, and Ingwerson spent the rest the years leading up to 2000 in various other bands.
In recent times, he’s played with the likes of Glenn Hughes, Rick Springfield, Dan Reed and…Chesney Hawkes. He’s also become a majorly successful producer, having global success. Now, he returns to his first love with a solo album called Reincarnation, released on August 31 by AOR Heaven. It features guest appearances from vocalists like the aforementioned Hughs and Hawkes, as well as Tommy le Verdi (ex-21 Guns) and Nils K. Rue (Pagan Mind). Also pitching in are Hensley, Morty Black (ex-TNT) and Eric Hawk (formerly of Artch).
To get a taste of what to expect, here’s a free download of I Surrender, with Glenn Hughes on vocals.
