Track Of The Day: Giant
We’ve got BIG news for you. Not only are AOR supremos Giant back, but they’ve provided the latest Track Of The Day – which will delight all those who like their hard rock to come with a bit of a smoothie approach. Check out all the latest Tracks Of The Day.
Giant started out in 1987, being brought together by the brothers Huff, guitarist/vocalist Dann and drummer David. They teamed up with keyboard player Alan Pasqua and bassist Mike Brignardello.
Their debut album, Last Of The Runaways, was released in 1989, featuring the big hit single I’ll See You In My Dreams. Second album Time To Burn followed in 1991, after which the band split up. Dann became a hugely successful producer – working with the likes of Megadeth and Shania Twain among others. But there was a brief reunion at the start of the decade, long enough for the band release the III album in 2001.
Now, there’s a new Giant line-up with David Huff and Brignardello joined by vocalist Terry Brock (Strangeways) and guitarist John Roth. With Dann getting involved with the songwriting, and also doing lead guitar on two songs, Promise Land – just released by Frontiers – is very much in the Giant tradition.
