Track Of The Day: First Signal
First Signal are a new melodic rock band, featuring former members of Pink Cream 69 and Harem Scarem. Now they’re offering us the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all Tracks Of The Day.
The core of the band are singer Harry Hesss (he of Harem Scarem fame) and producer/bassist Dennis Ward (the Pink Cream 69 connection). They’ve been joined by guitarist Michael Klein, keyboard player Eric Ragno and drummer Chris Schmidt, with backing vocals provided by Darren Smith, another former member of Harem Scarem.
The idea was to reimagine the 1980s guitar-oriented melodic style, but also add touches of contemporary sound. In other words, to take the Harem Scarem style further forward. The latter split up in 2008, after 21 years and 12 albums. But now with help from songwriters who’ve been involved with House Of Lords, W.E.T. and Work Of Art, First Signal are out to prove that they are not only the natural successors to the HS legacy, but already have a vision in their own right.
Their self-titled, debut album is released by Frontiers on August 30. Right now, you can download the song The City for free here.
