Track Of The Day: Eureka Machines

Today’s Track Of The Day comes to you from Eureka Machines…

When a band describes one of its influences as “the theme tune to Ronnie Corbett’s 80s sitcom ‘Sorry’”, you know that you’ve got a group that are going to be a lot of fun, and probably not take themselves too seriously. And looking at their line-up confirms this – you’re confronted with names such as Chris Catalyst, Davros, Pete Pseudonym and Wayne Insane.

What Eureka Machines do is make a glorious cacophony of power pop noise that distills the best bits of Jellyfish with a dash of early Manics and even tosses in a smidge of Beach Boys chorus catchiness.
Their debut album scored a 7 out of 10 when Classic Rock reviewed it last October, calling the Leeds band out on their “brilliant vocal harmonies and power pop stomp”. And even if we say so ourselves, we were bang on. As you can hear for yourself by downloading Do Or Die , today’s Track Of The Day which is the title track from said debut.

Kureka Maxhines are one of the finest, tightest live bands I have seen in the last 10 years.

Seconded. Saw them supporting Ginger a couple of weeks ago, completely blown away. Awesome band, will be at the Huddersfield show tonight! Can’t wait.

They were excellent in Huddersfield tonight. A whole lot of fun. I sometimes hear people moaning that there are no good new bands these days – these people are so very wrong. Download this, then buy the album and go see them live when they are in a town near you. You will not be disappointed!

Seen these boys twice now, and they were brilliant both times. They have got the balance between having a laugh with the audience and playing a quality set spot on, and the songs themselves are top drawer. Best “new” band I’ve heard in years.

YEP! and they’re playing for us on Friday!!
Looking forward to some great live music.

saw them last night for the first time. it won’t be the last!! fresh, fun and genuinely interesting. nice to see the british music scene ain’t totally dead. well done and good luck, you deserve to be massive

One of the best bands I have seen live. Tight and entertaining (and that was just the drummer….)
