Track Of The Day: Eden’s Curse
Today’s track of the day comes courtesy of melodic-rocking, power metallers Eden’s Curse! Click here for previous Tracks Of The Day.
Words: Dave Ling
As proven by The Second Coming, a critically praised sophomore album that fuses melodic hard rock and power metal into an orgy of rousing, fist-punching delight, Eden’s Curse are among the most exciting (relative) newcomers around.
Characterised by galloping drum beats, huge bass lines, corrosive guitar runs and pulsating keys, all overlain by the crisp, soaring vocals of US-born namesake Michael Eden, the anthemic Masquerade Ball is about as reliable an introduction to the delights of the Eden’s Curse oeuvre as one could wish for. One listen and we can guarantee you’ll be grinning like a loon as you wonder: “Do bands **really** still make music like that?!”
“I’m really looking forward to the reaction when we open our live set with Masquerade Ball on the forthcoming tour with Finnish power metal pioneers Stratovarius,” bass player Paul Logue tells Classic Rock. “As a song, it sums up exactly what The Curse are all about; it has hooks galore.”

In a flurry of activity, the multi-national combo – completed by guitarist Thorsten Koehne, keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg and English drummer Pete Newdeck – have also unveiled a video for another track from The Second Coming. Featuring a guest appearance from Pamela Moore, AKA Queensrÿche’s Sister Mary, the promo of Angels & Demons can be viewed by clicking here.
