Turns out, Cain’s Offering is the brainchild of Finnish guitarist/songwriter Jani Liimatainen (ex-Sonata Arctica). After leaving Sonata in 2007, he focussed his attentions on his new band – stars of today’s Track Of The Day. Joining Jani in his quest for world domination are vocalist Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius, Kotipelto), keyboardist Mikko Harkin (Solution.45, Mehida, ex-Sonata Arctica, ex-Wingdom, ex-Kenziner), bassist Jukka Koskinen (Norther, Wintersun) and drummer Jani “Hurtsi” Hurula (Paul Di’Anno).
Cain’s Offering are a perfect example of today’s living and breathing Finnish music scene, and draw their influences from “the classic hard rock scene, fast-paced European power metal and the very modern heavy metal sound.” All of which you can hear in More Than Friends, our TOTD taken from the band’s forthcoming debut album Gather The Faithful, due out through Frontiers Records on August 31.

melodic – yes. metal – not in my opinion but then i’m no metal fan anyway. this is the first free track i’ve downloaded and i think its a better than average start. sounded kinda proggy to me
