Track Of The Day: Angels Of Babylon
A band featuring former members of Megadeth and Manowar? Meet Angels Of Babylon, a foursome with a fearsome rip on epic, classic metal. They provide the latest Track Of The Day. Check out all the recent Tracks Of The Day here.
Angels Of Babylon have one-time Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson and former Manowar drummer Rhino. Add in vocalist Dave Fefolt and guitarist Ethan Brosh, and you have a band who really do stretch in a traditional metal sense – think Dio-era Rainbow meets Manowar with some Megadeth brushstrokes, and you’re not far off.
Says Rhino, who really is the driving force behind the band:
“I started compiling these songs many years ago, but was really patient in waiting for the optimum line-up to record and release the album that was growing in my head. (Sounds painful – Ed.)
“I was introduced to Fefolt, Ellefson and Brosh a couple of years back, and they really provided the inspiration to forge ahead and complete the album. I think we have something really special for fans of everyone one of the musicians on this.
“Real power from the bass of Dave, a classic, brilliant talent in vocalist David and a guitar player who anyone with a wide knowledge of Mike Varney’s Magna Carta stable will recognise but see in a really different light on this record.”
The band’s debut album, Kingdom Of Evil, is released by Metal Heaven on February 1.
