Track Of The Day: Adagio
French progressive metalheads Adagio once opened for Robert Plant at a show in Tunisia. Now, they’re our latest Track Of The Day. Click here for previous Tracks Of The Day.
Formed in 2001 by guitarist Stephan Forte, the band are dark, dramatic and drawn towards apocalyptic visions, which fit into their neo-classical approach.
The rest of the band – vocalist Christian Palin, bassist Frank Hermanny, drummer Eric Lebally and keyboard player Kevin Codfert – share Forte’s commitment to making Adagio something rather more intense and original than is the case with much of the music which clutters the power metal scene.
The band’s last two albums – Dominate and Archangels In Black – suggest that this fierce French phalanx is on the way to becoming a force on the Euro metal scene. Adagio are playing a show in London on October 24, at the Purple Turtle in London’s Camden.
