Tony Iommi: Heaven & Hell Tribute To Dio At High Voltage Is One-Off
Tony Iommi has told Classic Rock that Heaven & Hell’s tribute set for Ronnie James Dio at High Voltage is a one-off.
“We thought it would be nice to do a final thing for Ronnie,’ says guitarist Iommi. ‘To be honest, we didn’t expect to be playing again. It’s certainly going to be a strange feeling.”
Heaven & Hell – Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Vinny Appice – will play the main stage at High Voltage on July 24. They’ll be joined by vocalists Glenn Hughes and Jorn Lande.
“This is going to be the only one,” adds Iommi. “It would have been good, I suppose, for other people to have seen it, but this is something that we needed to do for ourselves as well.”

Even though I won’t be there to see it, I’m glad this is a one off. It shows how much respect the chaps in the band have for RJD.
Umm Why don’t you film it and put it out on video and give the proceeds to Stand Up and Shout????
Really admire Tony Iommi’s dignity. Like Kriss, I won’t be able to be there, but I hope the show will help the mourning process. RiP, RJD.
its right as a one off.dio was totally irreplaceable.though i wouldnt mind seeing them carry on with a name change and a new singer.make a new album and tour.no dio material to be played.

Kinda knew that Glenn would do it. Good mates with Ronnie? Check. Worked with Iommi before? Check. And Jorne deserves to pay tribute after that fucking amazing tribute song he did to Ronnie merely days after Dio took the vocalist’s slot in the heavenly Jam Band.
I like this one off performance and does show how much they cared for Ronnie. so glad I saw H&H a few years ago. I think tony Iommi is a great guy. To me, he’s always seemed this wise and down to earth kinda guy.
I vote that Jorn will stay as permanent singer in H&H
