Tom Jones For Aerosmith? Don’t Rule It Out
Joe Perry has told Classic Rock that one name Aerosmith might consider as a stand-in for Steven Tyler is… Tom Jones!
Says Perry: “He’s got a great set of pipes, so why not? I’ve played with him before, and know he could bring something extra to the band. We haven’t approached him yet, but if he were interested that would be great. Imagine the interest Tom would generate.”
The Welsh warbler was, of course, amusingly linked with the vacant Black Sabbath job nearly 25 years ago. In fact, it was an April Fool’s joke by Kerrang! magazine in 1984.
Perry now insists that, whoever the band bring in, this will be on a temporary basis, while Tyler pursues other activities. But, as soon as Tyler’s ready to return it will be business as usual for Aerosmith.
This is getting ridiculous! Either bring back Tyler or give it up guys while you still have some credibility left!
Could this story get anymore ridiculous. End it now or wait for Tyler.

Anyone who is ridiculing the idea of Tom Jones with Aerosmith does not know good music. If you have never seen Tom Jones and his band, you have no room to talk. This man is amazing, and he would elevate Aerosmith to a new level. He is a fantastic showman with incredible vocal ability, and he brings every musician that he plays with up to his level. I agree with Joe Perry’s assessment. If Tom wants in, do it!

This could be interesting!! Tom Jones has a huge powerful voice with incredible range. There are so many weak feminine voiced male singers covered with tattoos that have flooded the business…this could cause quite a stir…..a real singer!!!
