Thor has exclusively contacted Classic Rock to tell us he full extent of  his plans to hand over the hammer to his son.

If you watched the utterly remarkable/ludicrous video clip we posted recently, you’ll have got the idea that Thor is going to pass on his mantle, armour and hot water bottle to his son. And it is totally true.

“Yes, I am handing over to my son, Zon. He will go on touring the world and making new music. It was never well known, but I had a son in 1982 with Pantera (Thor’s wife/manager/backing singer at the time). We kept it quiet, and one of the reasons was that I thought he was Gene Simmons’ son, because Pantera had an affair with him. It’s only recently that I’ve come to realise he is my son.”

The new Thor will be known as Zon Son Of Thor. But that doesn’t mean the original is giving up.

“I’ll still play occasional shows and also make new albums. But in the main I’ll concentrate on my sports business and also on movies. We all think we’re immortal, but in the end age catches up with everyone.”

One film currently in production is Thor Ragnarock, where Thor dies, and hands over the hammer to Zon to take revenge.

“What we do in the film is mirroring what’s gonna happen musically, with Zon taking over.”

The plan is for Zon to tour extensively, starting later this year, with a UK show definitely planned for next year.

“I was just so disappointed not to make it over in April. But the Icelandic volcano eruption kept me away. However, I will come over with Zon. What we’ll do is have me doing the first part of the set, then handing over to Zon in a ritual similar to the one on the video, and we’ll probabluy finish the set together.”

It appears that Zon has inherited some of his dad’s old tricks.

“I’ve taught him the secret of steel, so he can bend bars, And he does blow up hot water bottles – with his mind. Believe me, the show is spectacular. You will think Ragnarock has come to Britain.”
