Though it’s still officially unconfirmed, Rush are said to be quitting Atlantic Records, the company they’ve been signed to since 1989’s Presto album, for Rounder Records. The roster of the Canada-based independent company includes George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Alison Krauss, The Tragically Hip and Bruce Cockburn. According to reports, a compilation titled Rush: 1989-2009 will be their Atlantic swansong.

Seattle band Truly, whose 1996 album Fast Stories From Kid Coma still holds cult appeal, are reunited. Still featuring former Soundgarden bassist Hiro Yamamoto and Screaming Trees drummer Mark Pickerill, they play a date at London’s Camden Underworld on September 9, with plans to release a new album early in 2009.
