The title track from Guns N’ Roses’ new album, Chinese Democracy, was made available to download by US radio outlets at 5.00 am Eastern Time today (October 22).
According to the Clog’s ready-reckoner, that equates to 10.00 am in the UK.
Although some album tracks leaked this summer, this is the first authorised new music from GN’R in God knows how long.
Meanwhile, a 55-second audio sample of the song is streaming here.

Meanwhile, the Clog has tracked down a large-scale version of the cover to GN’R’s Chinese Democracy album (see below). Whatever you might think of it, it certainly beats the minuscule glimpses of the cover that were previously available.

Well i’ve just had a listen and it just isn’t a guns n roses song is it, frankly if i’m honest I wouldn’t rate that in any way shape or form at all, and I certainly will not be listening to this again anytime soon out of choice
As an after thought I just thought i’d say that I thought the solo which I was hoping was going to be the redeeming feature of this song was crap beyond words, technically speaking it was great, but it didn’t have any kind of feeling to it and was dare I say it rather disjointed, so I personally see this as proof that Buckethead although a technically proficient guitarist just doesn’t fit in the guns n roses framework
Sorry sacralidge I know but if the rest of the album is as good as this I will probabaly end up completely shunning the current line-up of this once great band

was it really worth the wait? no not really. the record company will be kicking themselves because they aint gonna make back the money they have spent on it. still want to hear the whole album but nothing he does will ever beat appetite

why do people say it is not worth the wait? yhe wait will have no bearing on how good the album is, if it did nobody would ever release anything because the real artists out there would be taking an age to make THE CLASSIC album . I Dont recall axl ever stating that this would be a great album, i personally believe axl does not care what anybody else thinks of this album, i think he”s happy with it, and thats what matters to him. As for him never topping appetite, well i also think that axl knows that he cant beat that album, and thats why he has never tried to repeat that formula. the greatest of the greats,pink floyd and the beatles,made several classic albums, because when thay made a classic, they left that formula behind an searched for another. guns have made several classic albums, the illusion opus, is very underated, seriously in the last 17 years the only albums that can compete with them are metallica(black album) pearl jam(ten) nirvana(nevermind) oasis (definitely maybe) soundgarden,stone temple pilots,alice in chains and faith no more also provided some quality albums. For some it seems mr rose will be castigated for maaking one of the greates albums of all time (appetite) and not repeating it over and over again (a la ac/dc,oasis)

People are such dicks. Why would anyone expect this album to sound anything like Appetite. Granted it’s a whole new line-up bit it also called evolution. Does Hard Days Night sound anything like the White album. Does Piper at the Gates of Dawn sound anything like Division Bell – No!!!!!!!!!
As for the solo, I like it. It’s different, not the usual shred.
Heapy, this riff was probably written way before the Darkness even got a record deal. JP – sorry to break it to ya bud, but Oasis didn’t make any classic albums and they are frowned upon on this here clog.

paul …granted oasis didnt make no classic album, but i personally think def maybe was a hell of an album(an i couldn’t give a fuck if it is frowned upon in this …..CLOG????) all i said was arguably this album could be ranked along side illusion(although i dont fink so myself coz illusion 2 is my fave album of all time
i like oasis, they were in the latest CR so not that frowed upon! now, the new axl song, i like it, on first listen mind it didnt alf remind me of newer ozzy stuff, even the vocal. worth the wait? not really!

i have had this song for 18 months, and trust me its a real grower; keep listening its a class song. rock for 2008 not 1988……this will be the years biggest selling album!!
Despite the critics and the whole “this isn’t Guns N’Roses…”, I have to say that it’s a good song and how on earth do they get away with ripping off Zodiac Mindwarp & The Love Reaction right at the start?!!!

i really don`t understand all the hate this is gettin, ok so he kept us waiting a while, so what, & i guess it really shouldn`t be under the GnR moniker but Axl is back & sounding as good as ever in my opinion & my worst fear that he`d gone all Industrial a la Nine Inch Nails didn`t happen, so it`s all good to me, the song also includes some great guitar work , only thing who is it ? Robin Finck, Bumblefoot(Ron Thal), Buckethead(Brain Carrol)
