The Union: Live Line-Up Confirmed
The Union, featuring former Thunder guitarist Luke Morley and ex-Winterville singer/guitarist Peter Shoulder, have confirmed details of their full line-up.
Joining the duo for their debut gig, which takes place in London on December 15, will be erstwhile Thunder bassist Chris Childs and current Quireboys/former Tokyo Dragons drummer Phil Martini.
However, although Childs and Martini are valued contributors to the fledgling group, Morley hesitated when it came to describing the newcomers as full-time members.
“Because this band is going to be broader, musically speaking, than Thunder used to be, the plan is use a fluid line-up,” Morley tells Classic Rock.
“We’ve found that most of the best musicians out there are already working, so what we’ll probably do is pinch people as and when when we can.”
The Union will now make their aforementioned live debut at the Relentless Garage on December 15, after all the tickets for an intended introductory show at the far more intimate Hoxton Bar & Grill were quickly snapped up.
“That first one sold out in about 20 minutes flat, or something stupid,” marvels Morley, “so now it’s happening instead at the Garage in Highbury Corner. We could’ve done two nights there, in fact, but being our first gig we wanted to make it a one-off.”
Please note: the Garage gig is now totally sold out as well.
The band plans to hit the studio to record an album in mid-January, with a projected release date of March 2010.
