The Treatment Sign To Powerage

Young Cambridge-based band The Treatment have signed to Powerage Records.

The band was started in 2008 by drummer Dhani Mansworth. He’s now joined by guitarists Ben Brookland and Tagore Gray, bassist Rick Newman and drummer Matt Jones.

The five-piece have been recording their debut album at Barnyard Studios, owned by Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris. It’s being produced by Airrace guitarist Laurie Mansworth (Dhani’s dad) and is to be mixed by Voodoo Six’s Tony Newton.

Fantastic news! Great young rock band. Saw them in Cardiff and they blew me away.

Seen this band twice! I say watch out Steve Tyler! There is a new kid in town. Great vocals, Tight sounding music and just pure Rock and roll. Fantastic

saw this band at Cambridge Rock festival by far the best band there should have been the headline group.

Followed these guys for a couple of years. They are fantastic live, no surprise they’ve been signed. Can’t wait to hear the album!

Excellent. Saw them at Cambridge Rock too; the only band I saw which FILLED the Stage 2 tent – people kept coming in. And staying!

Sounds impressive!! Interesting to see Mansworth on board as producer, they remind me a bit of Roadstar/Hurricane Party/Heavens Basement??

Saw these guys at Cambridge Rock festival and yes they should have been on the main stage they were awesome!

Great news guys! Cant wait to hear you again. Saw you at Cambridge Rock festival and you were by far the band of the weekend.

They should very promising! very much reminds me of a band Mansworth had 6 years ago under the name Hurricane Party. Is Mansworth the song writer as he was with the Roadstar/Hurricane Party stuff?

saw them at borderline supporting zodiac mindwarp – RESPECT

Jessica

A bit too contrived for me like Hurricane Party were. I mean what’s the difference between these and a boy band? One guy putting together a band of young lads and writing all the songs for them. They were a metal band a few months ago, now they suddenly go classic rock. Just doesn’t feel right to me

… I agree with Jessica, another boyband with faux posing and someones money behind ‘em.

Anything that sounds different coming through soon?

Just listened to the track on the new Classic Rock CD. Love the guitar sound and a fab riff. Must check them out.

I’m with you Steve – love the track and good luck the lads. The rest of you naysayers are miserable buggers!

I’ve missed your last few gigs. Glad the tour went well. See you all soon. Dennis (Ozzie) Osborne.

Just seen the video. Your band is tight, music is good hard rock – memorable and innovative without being boring, lyrics OK. ( might not play them to my kids, but isn’t that the point?). great show with really exciting potential. Seriously looking forward to seeing you at Bristol 2011
