I have been waiting for the Pretty Things to come to NY again. I saw them a few times live within the past couple of years and they can musically whip the asses of most bands half their age. I had heard their gigs were being cancelled due to illness. Regardless, one cannot imagine that they possibly could’ve been any better live than they are now.

has anybody listened to the pretty things last cd, balboa island, this is a band that can still deliver after all these years, shame about the tour being canceled,was looking forward to it, shame for never getting the respect they deserve.

It’s a damn crying shame that such a seminal, timeless band is still struggling to achieve the notoriety and worldwide, long-overdue respect and reverence they more than rightfully deserve. The Pretties were always misunderstood in their time and, apparently, history is yet to make them justice; In a better world, ticket demand for an SF Sorrow 41st anniversary tour would be escalating, it unnerves me beyond measure to have to witness the ignorance of today’s “so called” rock audiences and their utter lack of respect. They decidedly deserve as bleak and uninspiring a “music scene” as today’s…

Mmmmmmm ‘’scheduling difficulties” ? when the lowry theatre in manchester phoned me to say that the tour was cancelled they said that it was due to poor ticket sales. maybe they were being over ambitious and should have chosen smaller venues.
