I don't think you were convinced Maiden were due for great things Mr Barton. If I remember correctly (and I'm sure I do) you raved about Samson, classed maiden as simply also rans and even named the classic 'Wrathchild' in your Sounds review as 'Rock Child'. Am I correct ?

Yep Neal Kay is still alive & i bet if someone could come up with a suitable venue, the Bandwagon/Soundhouse reunion would be back in business.
Neal - how about Bush Hall, Shepards Bush?

12 months early for me, sadly but did get to see Maiden on their 1st headlining tour in 80 - better reception than camden.

A glorious time for a spotty 14/15 year old herbert, the marquee, hammersmith odeon, reading and donnington and tv on the radio.

And nearly 30 years later, UFO still a fantastic live and recording band.

Is Neil Kay still alive?

hi folks!

I am afraid i was too young to apreciate the NWOBHM when it first begun. Since then, there have been various interesting articles in Classic rock regarding some excellent bands from that era( and i am not talking about def leppard, saxon, iron maiden etc)
What I want to know is - Isn't it about time Classic Rock released a one off special WHOLE magazine just about NWOBHM?
i for one would definately be shelling out for that!
