Interesting you completely avoided mentioning <a href="http://www.ercouncil.org/creative_destruction.html" rel="nofollow">my paper</a> on the state of the music business in the UK. It explains fairly clearly why rock is shunned on UK radio. The BBC doesn't like it very much so they won't play it and they do everything they can to make sure there are no rock stations. The BBC institutionally hate rock & metal because they believe its not politically correct and "too white". Interesting piece on why rock is not on radio much in the UK.
