The Faces Finish Writing New Album

…and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is coming along for the ride.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood have completed the writing process for the band’s first album since 1973’s ‘Ooh La La’.

Wood told the newspaper that he and Stewart spent their Christmas and New Year’s travelling around Costa Rica, Bermuda and Miami for ‘inspiration’ before writing the album in three days. Nice work if you can get it.

“I had a great time,” Wood said at yesterday’s South Bank Awards. “It wasn’t so much a holiday but a mini-world tour.”

It’s also written in the ‘Mirror that there will be a tour and it confirms the rumour that we brought you last year that Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be playing bass for the band.

Must be a future clasic if they can write the album in 3 days! suprised RW managed to stay off the booze long enough?

Does this mean we’ll get to see The Faces and Mott the Hoople on the same bill? Hope so.

hope in TONS of hammond organ riffs!

Bloddy hell! Flea taking the place of Ronnie Lane? Talk about inappropriate replacements.
Imagine the Experience regrouping with Hank Marvin, Dave Clark and the bass player from the New Seekers.
Or The Doors bringing in Davey Jones of the Monkees to fill in for dead Jim.
Or that gap toothed twat from Mungo Jerry geting the call from Jagger: ‘Ullo. Brians all wet. Wanna join the Stones?’
Or ‘Is that Kenny Jones? This is Jimmy Page. We need a drummer.’
No disrespect to Flea (good player – with the right sort of music) but when it come to square pegs in round holes this takes some beating.

When was the last time Rodney wrote a great song?

Hmmmm…..A lot riding on this Rod.

Maybe a chance for him to get a bit of songwriting credibility back again or has he run out of american songs to cover.

That aside, im looking forward to this.
