With the dust barely settled from this year’s ‘Warpaint’ album, The Black Crowes have begun to start talking about a new album.
Speaking to Billboard, Guitarist Rich Robinson has said “We want to make another record. We still want to do this. Having all this sort of new enthusiasm and this newfound sense of identity as a band, I think we want to put it to good use and make another great record and really do some different and interesting things. ”

He adds that the band have “tons of songs around. Chris and I are always writing,” and adds that “Right now I’m just writing what I write, and Chris is writing what he writes. When we get together and put all of our songs together, I think it’ll dictate what common direction it’s going to go. Once that happens, that’s when I think everyone’s gonna come in and we’ll solidify everything.”

Am I alone in hoping it’s a return to Rock after the snooze fest that was Warpaint?

I can’t agree with you. I believe that Warpaint was fantastic, it wasn’t a fast paced rock record, it was a laid back record showing a band doing what they want to do and getting away with it.

I agree with Ally, was a much more rootsy sound than maybe Lions or By Your Side, the latter of which was a terrible submission to the mainstream. I’m seeing them in London on May 17th, hoping they’ll get some of the potential new album songs out!
