The Big Four of thrash metal continue to make history – because last night (June 22) the bands got together on stage!
Members of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax performed a cover of the Diamond Head classic Am I Evil during the show at the Sonisphere Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria, which was beamed to cinemas around the world.
James Hetfield, Joey Belladonna and Dave Mustaine took turns to sing it, and you can witness the whole thing right here.
Saw it last night at the cinema and it was immense!!
these are the sort of gigs that a stack of people want.
imagine if they toured the whole of the rock world.
that means not just europe & usa, but everywhere else -
sth america, asia & australia. people will pay to see the
big 4. but it brings metal to the masses. i know that in
australia we are sick of lady gaga, country music &
elevator music in general. we don’t see many bands, so
this sort of metal mayhem would knock our socks off.
bring it on. i hope the b4 can look past the money &
preach to the world.
METALLICA, thank you for putting Bulgaria on the map! That was my second Metallica show, first time was two years ago again in Sofia July the 25-th 2008. Never seen something like that before. I’m already waiting for the next Metallica show. God bless you!
