The shoegazing revival continues a pace with Stockholm’s Blackstrap.
The five piece hitch the sound of classic My Bloody Valentine to a space rock saddle, sling that on top of a dream pop stallion, smack its arse and leave it to gallop around the sonic hillsides… …Hang on a goddamned minute!
You see, that’s what this shoegazing business leads to. One minute you’re a jobbing music journo, the next you’re writing a load of old cobblers about cathedrals of sound and white noise seahorses.
We’re messing with some dark forces here, boys, so I’ll leave you to sample Blackstrap’s weird juju for yourselves. Just don’t try and describe it to anyone.
