Porcupine Tree mainman Steven Wilson is to release a remixed version of his solo album Insurgentes on October 12 – and he’s brought in some interesting talents to do the remixing.

These include David I Sitek (TV On The Radio), underground hip-hop crew Dalek, drone act Fear Falls Burning, Pat Mastelotto (who’s working with King Crimson and XTC) and underground hip-hop heroes Engineers.

The mini album is completed by the winner of a remix competition which ran on the Insurgentes mini site. This gave fans the chance to remix the track Abandoner and there were over 200 entries. Of these, a final selection of eight mixes were put up on the site for people to vote. The Danse Macabre remix, created by Łukasz Langa, topped the poll. This mix is featured on the CD and download versions.
