So Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry flexed his buttocks and shoved frontman Steven Tyler off the stage. Now watch Tyler get his own back as he wallops Perry over the head with a mic stand.
You can distinctly hear the BLAT! as mic connects with noggin. Clearly reeling, Perry chucks his guitar into the amps and stumbles off stage.

UPDATE: Talking about the first incident, when Perry allegedly shoved Tyler offstage, a spokesperson for Aerosmith has said: “Joe wanted his fans to know that he would never delibertely push Steven off the stage”. As if…
This is just getting rediculous! I cant see this band lasting a few more weeks. Such a sad way for a band to go out – making themselves a laughing stock.
The microphone incident happened BEFORE the stage accident. And that’s what they BOTH were….ACCIDENTS. The videos clearly show that neither Tyler nor Perry was trying to harm the other.
The media needs to get their facts straight and quit trying to stir up drama where there is none.
Clearly a total accident, Joe moved in to centre stage whilst Steve had his back turned before swinging the mic stand…it’s clear isn’t it?
If you read Joe Perry’s Twitter messages over the last few days, he says that Tyler apologised immediately over the mic, it was all an accident and that the pushing & shoving stuff is just the media stirring shit up again. In light of recent past events it’s hard to know who to believe, but I’m hoping that it’s Joe.

This is just tabloid sensationalism! Sure Perry looks hacked off when he gets a bang on the noggin, but neither this nor the “stage dive” incident looks anything other than accidental. Another slow news day.

I can’t say I haven’t been disappointed with Aerosmith’s off stage antics (yep they should grow up) but they are still a classic rock band. I agree they have made some ‘poppy’ crap songs over the last few decades in order to sell some records (but they haven’t made a career out of it i.e. Bon Jovi, Def Leppard,etc). At the end of the day, they have produced 3 classic records of all time (Rocks, Toys, Pump). Not many bands have done that – only a handful. It is not easy to produce a really classic record – they only come ‘once in a blue moon’. As a live act they are still hard to beat as witnessed at Download! ( Yep, I agree the price of the tickets at the O2 were a rip off – but Download was good value). At the end of the day, I think we should appreciate the final days of these classic bands – because from what I can see there are not many new bands worthy to take their place. I rest my case.
The incident with the mic is clearly an accident but Joe bumping Steve off the stage does look deliberate. Perry looks directly at Tyler when Tyler’s back is turned and Joe moves towards him. Tyler is near the edge of the stage and hunched over- the slightest nudge and he’d tip over and that’s exactly what happened. Joe meant to bump him but not, perhaps, to knock Steve over. In the words of the immortal Inspector Clouseau, “Case is sol-ved.”

I love this band and at download they were so amazing it was a dream come true seeing them live. Everyone is aware of Tyler & Perry’s issues if these weren’t accidents it’s very sad that such a legendary band are going down such a bad road.

Blatently accidents. There’s been a lot of trouble with Aerosmith recently, but this is just media sensationalism.
ha ha ha – what next, base ball bats ? what’s up with all these grumpy old men? I dunno, maybe Joe Elliot should get on stage for a duet with a difference, he likes a punch up too! Oh yeh, the music…….forgot about that there for a moment….
I think both incidents are just accidents. The stage areas looked small and shit just happens. There is certainly a lot of crap coing out about Tyler and Perry these days. Makes you think it is intentional to keep pushing the PR campaign. I wish for the day when rockers just rocked and it was cool. No judges, no radio talk show hosts, just flaming rock and roll gods!!!
