Spend 29p To Stop The X Factor Getting To No.1

Rage Against The Machine are ahead of X Factor winner Joe McElderry in the race for the Christmas No.1, according to recent sales figures. You can help RATM consolidate their lead by downloading their song Killing In The Name for just 29p!

It’s true – if you go to the Amazon website here you can purchase Killing In The Name for the above bargain price.

(Admittedly McElderry’s single, The Climb, is also available for 29p – but we won’t mention that.)

As we reported recently (www.classicrockmagazine.com/news/kill-the-x-factor-for-xmas), a Facebook group has been set up urging people to buy RATM’s Killing In The Name during the period when sales count in the run up to Xmas.

This is specifically aimed at preventing the X Factor single from topping the charts.

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has criticised the internet campaign, calling it “stupid”.

Prior to the final of the ITV talent show, he said: “I think the campaign’s aimed directly at me.”

Aw, diddums.

Classic Rock‘s Scott Rowley adds: “I know it’s ridiculous cos RATM are on Sony [as is McElderry] and people are basically buying a song that says ‘Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me’ cos someone told them to – but it’d still be a good victory over Mr Cowell.”
