Slipknot’s Taylor: ‘I Tried Out For Velvet Revolver’

mdome / News / 30/10/2009 12:17pm

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has revealed he auditioned for Velvet Revolver.

Blabbermouth reports that the vocalist has gone public in admitting he was being considered as a potential replacement for Scott Weiland.

Says Taylor: “I had a meeting with those guys, we did some demos together, and it just didn’t work — for whatever reason.

“It was just really cool. It was one of those things where it’s like I could have got to jam with legends, man, in my opinion.

“But, you know, it was cool, and I still know those guys, I still hang out with them, and I still have nothing but respect.”

Velvet Revolver are still looking for the right singer.

Never really considered Taylor as a VR frontman but thinking about it, I think it would have been pretty cool.

Mr Speed

The Right singer fror VR is Axl Rose. Only he’s too bl00dy stubborn to admit it!

The new singer for velvet Revolver will be Franky Perez.

Thankfully he was never chosen! I’m a big fan of VR but I would’ve stopped listening to them if they picked Corey Taylor!

Corey Taylor is one of the best rock singers out there, but I’d rather he stayed with Stone Sour, more than Slipknot, their last album Come whatever may was awesome! can’t wait for the next one! I’ve said it before and will say it yet again the man VR should try is John Corabi
